Angela Larimer
Managing Partner
Ms. Angela S. Larimer is a highly skilled family law attorney, concentrating on Litigation, Mediation and Collaboration. Whether your family law issues are simple or complex, Ms. Larimer can assist you in gaining clarity and understanding in what can seem an insurmountable process. She helps to efficiently resolve your unique family law situation, including divorce, child support, parenting time and decision making, alimony/maintenance, parentage and paternity issues, post-divorce enforcement of orders, modification of existing orders, premarital and post marital agreements. She works directly with you to empower you with the knowledge to make wise decisions and identify which method is best for your desired outcome.

Guardian ad Litem, Advanced Mediation & Collaborative Law Certifications
Ms. Larimer is a frequent appointee of Cook, DuPage, and Lake County judges to serve as a Child Representative or Guardian Ad Litem for minor children in intricate, high-conflict domestic relations cases. To advance the cause of those who seek her assistance, she also regularly attends litigation, collaboration, mediation and family law seminars led by judges, experts and legislative authorities in order to hone her skills and to keep up on cutting-edge resolutions, issues, laws and technologies. Her ongoing advanced training and certifications, including evaluation processes that emphasize the Model Standards and Risk Management principles, have not only enhanced, but streamlined her abilities to handle and resolve even the most complicated family law scenarios.

Angela’s Affiliations, Education and Memberships
Ms. Larimer is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois, and the Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts. She obtained a double bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Rhetoric from the University of Illinois and a teaching certificate, a license which she keeps active, from North Eastern Illinois University in Chicago and received her law degree from DePaul College of Law. Her most recent educational background includes completing a Master's Program at both the University of Chicago and Oxford University, England.

Community Involvement:
Angela serves as a Child Representative and Guardian Ad Litem for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, where she works pro bono for the Chicago area’s less fortunate. She also serves on the board of Everyday Edgebrook, a group of independent small businesses working together to improve the business district of the Edgebrook neighborhood in Chicago.

Lucas Godwin
Attorney
Mr. Lucas S. Godwin is a licensed attorney dedicated in family law, civil domestic violence, and divorce. He is passionate about helping clients navigate the challenges of family law disputes, providing the tools and support needed to achieve favorable outcomes. As a former 711 Law Clerk and Staff Attorney at a legal aid non-profit, Lucas understands the highly emotional and complex nature of family law proceedings.

Drawing on his extensive experience representing lower-income survivors of domestic violence, Lucas takes a practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal advocacy. While he believes that a reasonable settlement is often the best resolution, Lucas is always prepared to litigate when necessary to protect his clients' interests.

Lucas is especially committed to serving the LGBTQ+ community, recognizing the unique challenges that LGBTQ+ individuals and families face in family law matters. He strives to create a safe, affirming environment where all clients feel understood and supported throughout the legal process.

Lucas earned his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law, where he honed his expertise in family law through diverse roles. He clerked for a solo practitioner, worked at a large family law firm, and served at the Office of the Public Guardian’s Domestic Relations Division. He also externed with the Honorable Judge Maritza Martinez of the Domestic Relations Division of Cook County and volunteered as a pro bono assistant for self-represented litigants under the Honorable Judge John Carr. Additionally, Lucas participated in DePaul’s Domestic Violence Practicum through Ascend Justice.
During law school, Lucas excelled academically, making the Dean’s List twice. He also demonstrated leadership as the 1L Representative, Secretary, and later President of the Child and Family Law Association at DePaul.

Lucas is proud to serve as an Advisory Board Member for DePaul University College of Law’s Schiller DuCanto and Fleck Family Law Center. He is also an incoming member of the Associate Board for Life Span.

Originally from North Carolina, Lucas has called Chicago home since 2020. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a minor in History, and a concentration in pre-law. In his free time, Lucas enjoys traveling to North Carolina, exploring destinations abroad, and spending time with friends and his dog, Diva.
